At ELMO, we’re seeking a Senior Project Manager with strong Payroll and HR domain expertise to lead the end-to-end delivery of complex strategic initiatives. This is a highly hands-on role where you will act as both a Project and Product Owner to ensure successful delivery.
You must be an experienced project leader who can build robust plans, navigate ambiguity, manage competing priorities, and bring business and technical teams together to deliver high-quality outcomes on time.
Reporting to the VP, Corporate Strategic Initiatives, you’ll work closely with executive sponsors and cross-functional leaders across People & Culture, Finance, Legal, Marketing, Enablement, Sales and Product.
About the role
This role plays an important part in delivering initiatives that support ELMO’s growth, customer outcomes and operational effectiveness. You’ll help drive alignment, decision-making and execution across a broad stakeholder group, combining strong project discipline with practical delivery leadership and domain credibility in HR and payroll-related work.
What you’ll do
- Lead end-to-end delivery of strategic projects, with ownership across scope, timelines, quality, dependencies and outcomes.
- Build and manage integrated project plans across business, operational, technical and change activities.
- Establish clear milestones, sequencing and delivery plans across all phases of work.
- Identify and manage risks, issues, decisions and dependencies to maintain delivery momentum.
- Drive stakeholder alignment, clarify ownership and help unblock delivery through timely decision-making.
- Lead workshops, project forums and working sessions to move delivery forward and resolve ambiguity.
- Partner across product, operations and commercial teams on initiatives with customer, business or go-to-market impact.
- Provide clear, concise reporting on progress, risks, dependencies and key decision points.
What you’ll bring
- Strong project management experience with a proven track record delivering complex cross-functional initiatives end to end.
- Deep capability in project planning, delivery management, dependency management, risk resolution and stakeholder leadership.
- Experience delivering technology-enabled business initiatives with meaningful operational or commercial impact.
- Experience in payroll-related programs, such as payroll implementation, payroll transformation or payroll go-to-market initiatives, will be highly regarded.
- Strong understanding of HR processes, payroll software and SaaS delivery environments.
- Working knowledge of Agile, Waterfall and hybrid delivery approaches, with the judgement to apply the right structure to the work.
- Excellent communication and facilitation skills, with the ability to turn complexity into clear actions and decisions.
- Relevant tertiary qualifications and/or practical experience, with project management certifications viewed favourably.
