Job Description

About the Opportunity...

As a Support Consultant – Payroll, you’ll be part of our Support team, reporting to the Support Operations Lead. You’ll become an expert in the ELMO platform, managing and documenting solution configurations and providing systems-related troubleshooting to both internal stakeholders and our external customers.

You’ll be on the front line of our customer experience: handling enquiries via phone and email, logging and tracking tickets, and making sure every interaction reflects ELMO’s professional standards. You’ll also help customers get the most out of their system through user training, quick reference guides, and manuals.

 

What You’ll Do...

  • Develop an in-depth knowledge of all ELMO systems, with a focus on payroll.

  • Respond to client calls and emails, providing timely, customer-centric support

  • Configure databases underpinning the ELMO solution based on identified client needs

  • Perform systems-related troubleshooting for both internal and external stakeholders

  • Log, track, and maintain records of all solution-related issues, including technical queries, user errors, configuration errors, and system bugs

  • Provide Level 1 support by gathering information, classifying issues, and resolving where possible

  • Provide Level 2 support by determining root causes of more complex issues and resolving basic technical/configuration problems

  • Support the continuous evolution of ELMO by capturing client feedback, participating in UAT for system updates, and suggesting enhancements

  • Help maintain long-term relationships with key client contacts through high-quality service and communication

  • Develop user guides and training materials for ELMO systems

  • Represent ELMO and ELMO Software in all client communications in line with our professional standard

  • Participate in and delivering outcomes for such other activities and projects as may from time to time be assigned.

  • Ensure compliance with ELMO’s information security and privacy policies and procedures

Desired Skills and Experience

What We Would Like to See You Bring to the Team...

  • Excellent communication skills (written and verbal), with the ability to adapt your style to different audiences and explain technical payroll concepts in plain language

  • Payroll expertise across AU & NZ, including Fair Work, ATO/STP, and NZ Holidays Act, IRD and KiwiSaver compliance.

  • Confidence in interpreting and configuring Modern Awards and Enterprise Agreements (EAs) within payroll or workforce management systems

  • Strong understanding of end-to-end payroll processing, including month-end and year-end reconciliations and tax reporting

  • Experience managing high-touch client relationships, resolving issues via ticketing systems and meeting SLAs

  • Ability to produce clear user guides and functional documentation for clients

  • Previous experience supporting payroll/HRIS platforms, ideally for AU/NZ organisations

  • Strong technical troubleshooting skills, including configuration, data and integration issues

  • A customer-centric, collaborative and solutions-oriented mindset, with the ability to work both autonomously and as part of a team

  • Strong technical capability with a genuine interest in HR and payroll technology

  • The ability to understand technical information and explain it clearly to non‑technical users

  • A customer-centric mindset and proven customer service skills

  • A collaborative approach with the ability to work effectively in a team as well as autonomously

  • A performance and solutions-oriented approach to your work
