Job Description

About the Opportunity...

We’re looking for a Fullstack Software Engineer to take ownership of mid-sized features and deliver high-quality, well-tested code across frontend, backend, and infrastructure. You’ll also play a key part in supporting junior engineers as a mentor and buddy, providing technical guidance and helping strengthen the overall engineering culture. Collaborate in workshops, contribute to agile ceremonies, and make a real impact within a supportive, high-performing team.

  • Stakeholder Management - keeps tangential teams informed and expectations managed around everyday work updates. Uses judgement about others' reaction when disclosing information and opinions.
  • Debugging & Monitoring - systematically debug issues located within a single service, whilst taking greater responsibility for the monitoring systems.
  • Security - understands the importance of security and starts to see work through a security lens.
  • Software Architecture - a good understanding of, and designs functions that are aligned with, the overall service architecture.
  • Technical Understanding and Prioritisation - displays a clear technical confidence and understanding, prioritises tasks and acts accordingly.
  • Testing - understands the importance of a testing strategy, with growing levels of autonomy.
  • Writing Code - consistently write testable, readable code across larger more complex projects.
  • Communication - communicates with a wider team, feeds back on communication of others.
  • Empathy & Humility - constantly pushes for a better understanding of the needs and perspectives of those outside their own viewpoint.
  • Initiative - relentlessly positive in pursuing new ways to solve a problem.
  • Objectivity & Adaptability – changes their mind over strongly held beliefs and pursue a new path with no loss of velocity.
  • Fills in timesheets in a timely manner.

Desired Skills and Experience

What we would like to see you bring to the team…

  • Bachelor of Science (B.S.) degree with a concentration in Information Technology or Computer Engineering.
  • Demonstrated experience in agile/scrum practice.
  • 4+ years of software development experience with strong JavaScript/TypeScript proficiency
  • Advanced knowledge of Node.js and related frameworks (Express, NestJS, Fastify etc).
  • Comfortable working with different technologies as needed.
  • Familiar with AWS, Microsoft Azure and/or Google Cloud.
  • Excellent decision-making and problem-solving skills.
  • Well-developed communication, presentation and interpersonal skills.
