Job Description

Are you ready to take on a pivotal role in our engineering team? Do you have a passion for solving complex technical problems and driving innovation? We are seeking a skilled Lead Software Engineer to join our dynamic team.

 

The core role of the Lead Software Engineer includes but not limited to:

  • Manage and actively maintain the technical debt backlog
  • Complete High-level estimates and conduct spikes to de-risk these estimates
  • Determine and document technical/architectural solutions
  • Developing the technical vision and roadmap to align with business objectives and broader ELMO Architecture
  • Assess new technologies and see-through adoption
  • Incident response and mitigation
  • Ensure quality and security practices meet outcomes (test coverage, reviews, production monitoring, OWASP and cybersecurity etc.)
  • Technical alignment (ensure consistency and speed in technical solutions, processes and operation) e.g branching strategies, pipeline management, technical practices, coding conventions
  • Individual engineers are recruited, onboarded, upskilled and continuously technically mentored
  • Ensure compliance with ELMO’s information security privacy policies and procedures

Desired Skills and Experience

  • Bachelor of Science (B.S.) degree with a concentration in Information Technology, Computer Engineering, Computer Science or equivalent experience of minimum of five years
  • Advanced knowledge of technologies such as Java, Spring Framework, React, NodeJS, JavaScript and CSS.
  • Advanced knowledge of database technologies such as Postgres
  • Sound knowledge of AWS services such as AWS, ECS, Nginx, Tomcat, Redis, ElasticSearch, Jenkins, Docker.
  • Demonstrated 3-5 years of work experience of agile/scrum methodology
  • Well-developed communication, presentation and interpersonal skills
  • Minimum 7 years development experience in required computer languages and frameworks.
  • Minimum 5 years experience designing and implementing Software Applications.
  • Strong knowledge of object-oriented programming
  • Strong knowledge of various design and architectural patterns
  • Familiar with fundamental design principles for building a scalable application
  • A knack for writing clean, readable, and easily maintainable code (SOLID Principles)
  • Experience creating database schemas that represent and support business processes
  • Experience implementing automated testing platforms and unit tests
  • Proficient understanding of code versioning tools such as GIT
  • Strong knowledge of security vulnerabilities
