Job Description

About the opportunity…

As the Frontend Architect you will play a pivotal role in our greenfield initiative, reporting directly to the Chief Technology Officer. You will lead the development and implementation of a UI boilerplate, prioritizing ease of implementation for our engineering teams while upholding high standards of maintainability and future-proofing in alignment with industry best practices. Collaboration, mentorship, and effective decision-making are at the core of this strategic position.

This role is a 6 month contract role.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the development of a UI boilerplate for a 'micro front-end architecture', emphasizing usability, accessibility, observability, developer experience, and UX.
  • Evaluate and select appropriate UI frameworks, libraries, and tools to build scalable, responsive, and maintainable UI components.
  • Provide guidance, mentorship, and technical leadership to UI developers and engineers, ensuring adherence to best practices, standards, and design principles.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including product managers, UX Designers, back-end developers, and other architects.
  • Produce high-fidelity prototypes and high-quality documentation and training materials for engineering groups.
  • Identify and address risks and challenges related to the development of the UI boilerplate.

Desired Skills and Experience

  • 5+ years of experience as a front-end engineer
  • Proven track record of delivering scalable, foundational 'boilerplate' micro front-ends
  • Experience in designing and implementing scalable, responsive, and visually appealing user interfaces
  • Proficiency in frontend technologies such as HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript, React, Webpack, and responsive design principles
  • Familiarity with UI design tools like Adobe XD, Sketch, Figma, or similar
  • Understanding of frontend architecture patterns, component-based development, and design systems
  • Awareness of web performance optimization techniques, accessibility standards, and cross-browser compatibility issues
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Understanding of Agile product management and delivery practices
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical mindset
  • Bachelor's degree or higher in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, Human-Computer Interaction (HCI), or a related field.
